Photos of People I Took During the War In Ukraine
The situation in Ukraine is still terrible. People die every day here. As a photographer, I can’t go out and take photos. People constantly ask me what am I doing. They think that I am an enemy and take photos of some important military objects or something like this. One woman even almost called the police. After several minutes of discussion, I convinced her to not do it. After it, I didn’t have any desire to take photos outside.
Now it is more dangerous to go outside for men because our military officers are raiding the city and recruiting men to the army against their will. So today I decided to show you the photos I took during the first months of the war.
These photos I took during a air raid alert in a bomb shelter in one of schools of my city. I had been doing a street photoshoot with my friends before we heard sirens. It was very cold down there. We have been sitting there for about 2 hours. People were so stressed and calm at the same time. Because they were used to it.
Some people are fleeing some people are still working. The city continues to live. I love to just walk around the city and capture moments. I really like to take photos of people like they really are. Some wash floors or blinds, some sell flowers, and some repair windows.
Thank you for reading. I hope you liked the photos and story. I believe we will get through the difficulties we are facing now.
